American Airlines asked us to create a print ad to remind the world that they are Hollywood's partner during award season. We told them that if they wanted to be a true partner to Hollywood, they'd have to call the industry on its gender disparity problem. They listened to us. A print ad assignment turned into a new Film Independent Spirit award, Ava DuVernay handing out said award, a $50k grant, and the first in-flight entertainment channel dedicated to female directors.
